Executive Inn & Suites

We stayed with our family for one night and it was amazing! All clean, and cozy, we felt at home even if we were far away from it. The receptionist was super friendly, and he explained everything politely. It was our second time and both times we checked with the same receptionist in the evening. He remembers us and it is so nice. The view to the shore is awesome. Also, forget to mention that there are plenty of parking spaces even for big trucks. Thank you!

This hotel is definitely in need of a refresh but it has some positives and our stay went smoothly. My room (facing the water) was quiet in terms of outdoor/street noise. The plants in the hotel were beautiful. The bar and restaurant had some great vibes. The staff were very friendly. The location was convenient for us. I feel like this hotel could upgrade a couple of things and take this place into the new millennium, starting with the window A/C units. They have to be from the 1980s and it’s hard to get a good night’s sleep with it turning on and off constantly. And temperature wise it wasn’t accurate at all. Also accent bedding and carpets inside and outside of the rooms have seen a better day and need to be replaced. The bathroom met our needs but it’s outdated. The makeshift closet in the middle of the room has a little homemade curtain you can slide over to hide the closet on the side closest to the bed - very bizarre placement of the closet. The fitness room was a sad little space. Treadmill not functioning so that left an elliptical, bike and then one multipurpose weight machine. I don’t think the place needs a total overhaul but they could focus on a couple small wins to improve the place.

Our stay at the Executive inns and Sweets was great! We were greeted by a very friendly staff especially Luis at the reception. Our room was clean and spacious with a cozy balcony , overlooking the lake with a spectacular view. Breakfast was included with a good assortment , especially the bagels. Luis was prompt in answering our questions and requests. We will recommend Executive inns and sweets to family and friendly . We will surely stay again there during our next visit. Caroline H.

My husband and I got married at Scott’s Seafood in Jack London Square this past weekend. We live in Utah and all our friends and family traveled to Oakland to be part of our special day. We started working with Vanessa and Katherine 10 months ago on a room block and special accommodations. Vanessa went above and beyond helping us to have the perfect weekend. We are so grateful for all the time and energy she put into helping us. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and the rooms were spaciousness. We highly recommend Executive Inn & Suites/Best Western for special occasions and travel stays.

The Good - The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The water view was pretty, and location next to the water front walking trail provided a great opportunity for some much needed exercise after being stuck in the car for 4 hours. The small pool area was clean, and the hot tub temperature was good. For those with the interest, there is a very large cannabis dispensary located right across the street. The Not So Good - Breakfast was supposed to be a buffet, however, when i think of a buffet I imagine several different options. This buffet had typical continental breakfast options like cold cereal and fruit, an unappetizing pan of gritty looking eggs that I'm assuming were powdered, and a pan of grey sausage patties. We ended up walking a half mile down the road to Starbucks. The bathroom was in need of some love. There were several floor tiles that were broken or coming out of the floor, and it looks like grout repairs were attempted but they just look sloppy and unprofessional. There's no door or curtain on half the shower, so the floor ends up covered in water by the time you're done showering. The fire sprinkler in the bathroom was very rusty. The pool/hot tub area, while clean, is outdoors with no canopy. We wanted to enjoy the pool and hot tub, but it was raining and cold out, so it wasn't very comfortable to be out there. The location of the hotel is not within reasonable walking distance of any shops or restaurants (other than Starbucks and a Ramen place). If you don't like driving in the city and prefer to walk everywhere, this is not the place to stay. It's located in an industrial type area, and doesn't feel particularly safe. Spend the extra few bucks to get a room with a water view. The other side of the hotel looks out onto the parking lot, a graffitied overpass, a busy freeway, and train tracks.
